Privacy Policy
Classic Phone Launcher is an Android home-screen launcher application developed by QuantixLab. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and the choices available to you. We are committed to keeping your information private and on your device wherever possible.
1. Information We Access
1.1 Contacts
Classic Phone Launcher requests the READ_CONTACTS permission to display your contacts in the Favorites strip, Speed Dial grid, and Contacts screen. Contact names, phone numbers, and avatars are read directly from Android's Contacts Provider and displayed locally on your screen. Contact data is never transmitted to any server, stored in the cloud, or shared with any third party by QuantixLab.
This permission is optional. If denied, the launcher continues to work normally; only Speed Dial slots you have manually configured and Contacts-dependent features will be affected.
1.2 Installed Applications
The launcher queries Android's Package Manager to list launchable apps in the App Drawer. The launcher holds a CATEGORY_HOME role which grants standard visibility into installed apps without requiring the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission. Package names and app identifiers are processed locally only and are never included in analytics events or transmitted off-device.
1.3 Purchase Information
When you purchase Premium, Google Play Billing provides a purchase token and product status to the app. This token is stored locally in the app's Room database to verify your entitlement. QuantixLab does not process or store your payment card details — all billing is handled exclusively by Google Play.
1.4 Analytics and Diagnostics
When Analytics is enabled (the default), the app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregate usage information such as which screens are visited, which mode is selected, and which features are used. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected: no contact names, phone numbers, app package names opened, message content, or precise location.
Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects crash reports and diagnostic information (stack traces, device model, OS version, app version) to help identify and fix bugs. No PII is included in crash reports.
You can disable analytics at any time in Settings → Analytics within the app.
1.5 Advertising
The free tier displays banner and native ads via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Google may use device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads where consent has been obtained. For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, a consent dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) is shown before any personalized advertising data is collected.
No ads of any kind are shown in Kid Mode. No full-screen interstitial, rewarded, or app-open ads are used — only banners (in Settings) and native in-feed ads (in Themes). Purchasing Premium removes all ads permanently.
1.6 Accessibility Service (Optional — Future Feature)
A future update will offer optional Accessibility-assisted app blocking for Kid Mode and Focus Mode. If enabled, Android provides only the package name of the app entering the foreground; the launcher compares this against the allowed-app list entirely on-device. The Accessibility Service does not read, record, or transmit screen text, window content, passwords, or any personal information. This feature requires explicit opt-in by the user in Android Accessibility Settings.
2. How We Use Information
- To display your contacts and speed dial shortcuts on your home screen
- To list and launch installed apps from the App Drawer
- To verify your Premium purchase status
- To improve the app through anonymous aggregate analytics
- To diagnose and fix crashes via Crashlytics
- To display non-intrusive ads in permitted screens (free tier only)
3. Data Storage and Security
All launcher configuration — including favorites, mode preference, selected theme, hidden apps, Focus session history, and PIN hash — is stored locally on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore. This data never leaves your device through Classic Phone Launcher.
PINs are stored as SHA-256 hashes, not as plaintext. The original PIN cannot be recovered from the hash. If you forget your PIN, you must reset the launcher via Settings → Reset Launcher or by clearing app data in Android's App Settings.
4. Kid Mode and Children's Privacy
Classic Phone Launcher is not directed at children under the age of 13. However, Kid Mode is designed for caregivers to configure a safe phone environment for children. When Kid Mode is active:
- All advertising is disabled — no ads of any format are shown
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics collection are disabled
- No personal data is collected from the device user
- Kid Mode configuration remains entirely on the caregiver's device
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@quantixlab.dev and we will promptly address it.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
QuantixLab does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. The following third-party services may process limited data as described:
- Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics) — anonymous usage and crash data. Google Privacy Policy ↗
- Google AdMob — advertising data (free tier, with consent). Google Privacy Policy ↗
- Google Play Billing — purchase tokens and entitlement status. Google Privacy Policy ↗
6. Your Choices and Controls
- Analytics: Disable in Settings → Analytics within the app
- Contacts permission: Deny or revoke in Android Settings → Apps → Classic Phone Launcher → Permissions
- Ad personalization: Reset advertising consent in Settings → Ad Consent (EU/EEA users)
- Data removal: Clear all local data via Android Settings → Apps → Clear Data, or by uninstalling the app
- Managed devices: Device Owner installations may restrict uninstalling until a caregiver exits managed mode
7. Data Retention
All data stored by Classic Phone Launcher persists on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics data retained by Firebase is subject to Google's retention policies (default 14 months).
8. International Users and GDPR
For users in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we provide a consent management dialog (Google's User Messaging Platform) before collecting personalized advertising data. You may withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Ad Consent.
Where GDPR applies, the legal basis for processing analytics data is legitimate interest in improving our app. You may object by disabling Analytics in Settings.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
